I heard a great description of Steampunk the other day. It was in Castle, which is one of the good ones.
It wouldn't quite fit on Twitter.
"It's a subculture that embraces the simplicity and romance of the past and at the same time couples it with the hope and promise and sheer supercoolness of futuristic design."

This is my new favorite show. The writing is so good. I loved the costumes. It almost made me want to write steampunk! Okay, maybe just a little. It did make me want a costume though.
I love Castle, it's so... fun! So many of these cop shows have gone so serious, and while it doesn't make light of the crimes of course, it does enjoy the situations.
It made me want steampunk stuff, with which to further clutter my little room.
